As we enter 2012, it is amazing to think about all of the incredible opportuities we have had this year to serve such a special community. New programs and events are wonderful, but the goal has always been to focus on the people we serve. There is truely nothing more rewarding than walking alongside people as they take small and large steps towards long term life change! We have had the opportunity to encourage and assist community members as they fight against addiciton, accept a job opportunities after being unemployed, move into apartments after being homeless, and restore relationships that have been broken. Hundreds of people have been impacted by the work of B-Side this past year and we are anticipating another incredible year in 2012. In February, our sunday service and discussion groups will focus on managing and battling our emotions as we start a series called "I'm So..." Our mens group continues to work through an incredible book by will davis jr. entitled "10 things jesus never said. The B-Side womens group is working through a study called, "your life in christ." Check our calendar page for dates and times and join us anytime! Since the beginning of B-Side staffing, we have been able to offer employment opportunities to almost 50 individuals. Many of those opportunities have turned into regular and full time employment. If you are a business owner with temporary employment needs, or work for a company that uses temporary employees, please keep us in mind. We have several strong employees on file and have a wonderful system in place that offers great benefits to the employers and the employees involved. Call Mark at (715)830-9495 for more information. Our first b-side studios family is a single mother and her teenage daughter. They have been homless now for several months and when asked what their goals are, the answer was simply, "to be together." thank you to the incredible generosity of so many who donated their time, money, and possesions to get the apartments ready. Also, a heartfelt thank you to MLB Properties for allowing us to use the apartment building for such an incredible cause! B-Side is now set up to recieve online donations! Because of the incredible growth of B-Side and the new programs we are able to offer this year, we have a need to increase our donations to keep up with the demand. Every donation given is multiplied many times over as we assist residents in becoming contibution members of society.
